Hi everyone I wanted to let everyone know about the experience I've had with some of our sponsors. I'm sure you've had very similar experiences with them. The mahogany and Italian spruce for my guitar came from Bob at RC Tonewoods. John Mayes had built from it, and when Hesh posted the pic of his set, I desparately wanted some. I emailed Bob just to see if he'd possibly hold a set for me, and he did. This stuff is on the exclusive side of things, and he pulled it for me. Later, he personally went through his Italian tops and selected one that met a description John had given. THEN Bob thicknessed the wood and gave me a joinable edge. Pricing was absolutely phenominal. Shane at High Mountain Tonewood exchanged a number of emails with me and even took some pictures. For what? A massive $16 purfling sale. These guys are tremendous. They each went beyond the call of duty for me and I want to publically thank and support them. ![]() ** I'm not putting much of an effort into it, but I've thrown together a small page documenting the guitar: http://languagepool.net/acoustic |

Here, here! One of the really nice and most useful things about OLF has been the exposure to really high quality sponsors and vendors. I have 4 sets of wood from Bob C that are gaining maturity on my shelf (boy I wish I could change their status), and if he gets around to sawing some of that South American Osage, I'll sure accumulate some more. And thanks to Shane for a sawblade - I need to get back to you for some Lutz at some point. Another really wonderful guy that you should definitly take the time to hook up with is Steve Roberson at Colonial Tonewood. All in all, its a really high quality set of people listed at the top of the page. |

All great sponsors we have and we should never take them for granted, they'll go the extra mile to make sure we are satisfied so it's worth encouraging them, it is a priviledge to have the best of them here. |

I definitely agree. I want to buy from them as exclusively as I can. A lot of the time there is customer service talk here, and I usually don't get very involved. In fact I never have. I don't see a problem with giving a negative (not trashing) report of a vendor, and I don't think I should be treated like royalty just for stepping in someone's store. I'm happy making the transaction and getting out, even though I prefer to shop at local businesses before chains. These guys to going so far out of their way is really special and far far above what I believe should be par. They're awesome. |

Once upon a time, I searched high and low for guitar parts, woods etc. etc. Now, my life has been greatly simplified and enhanced I might add with the creation of the OLF and its sponsors. I simply bring up the OLF site, and then click on the sponsors sites and do my purchasing. Since joining the OLF, I have not made a single Ebay purchase and have really only dealt with non-sponsors on a couple of occassions because of the product need. Remember, when you do your purchasing from our sponsors, don't go straight to their Web site from your browser, search engine, but first go to the OLF and quick link from there. Some of our sponsors as I understand know when we enter from the OLF and this helps the site out and allows our sponsors to realize the benefits in sponsoring this site. Although I have not gotten to everyone of our sponsors yet, I want to thank BobC at RC Tonewoods, Ed Dicks at Acoustic Wood (AC Wood), Tracy L at Luthiers Supplies, John at Blues Creek, StewMac and LMI for their continued support of my efforts and of the OLF. I hope to get around to the rest of you guys in coming months. Thanks to All, including all my OLF friends Mike |
